let ∠a and∠b be the two complementary angles.

so,

∠a+∠b=90

Here, one angle is 45

Let ∠a=45

⇒45+∠b=90

∠b=90−45=45

So from above we can say that if one complementary angle is greater than 45 then other angle is less than 45.
