An aqua solution of X reacts with sodium chloride solution to form a white precipitate of compound Y which is photo sensitive. Y in presence of sunlight undergoes decomposition reaction to form a metal present in compound X and releases a pungent smelling yellowish green coloured gas.(1) Identify X and Y.(2) Write the equation for decomposition reaction.

X - Soluble silver salt, most proabable AgNO3. Y - AgCl silver chloride. Decomposition reaction: 2AgCl = 2Ag + Cl2. Chlorine is a yellowish green gas .
