if seeds did not spread and remained at one place, then they may not get enough nutrients for growing as all of them need nutrients. and when they grow, it will cause overcrowding in one place and all cannot grow at a place. all need nutrients but they cannot take all from a single place.

If seed doesn't spread and remain at one place then the plants does not get proper nutrition , which is very much important for them. And plant will not grow properly
