Given :-

  • Length of the aquarium = 80 cm
  • Breadth of the aquarium = 30 cm
  • Height of the aquarium = 40 cm

To Find :-

  • Area of the paper needed.

Solution :-

Area of the base :-

➜   length × breadth

➜   80 × 30

➜   2400 cm²

Area of the side face :-

➜   breadth × height

➜   30 × 40

➜   1200 cm²

Area of the back face :-

➜   length × height

➜   80 × 40

➜   3200 cm²

Area of the paper :-

➲  Area of base + Area of back face + (2 × Area of side face)

➲  2400 + 3200 + (2 × 1200)

➲  8000 cm²

∴  Area of coloured paper required = 8000 cm²
