an aqueous of metal nitrate A reacts with sodium bromide to form precipitate of compound B which is used in black and white photography. B on exposure to sunlight undergoes decomposition reaction to form metal present in A along with a reddish brown gas. identify A and B. write the balanced chemical equation and list two categories in which the reaction can be classified.(Note:- i don't want any copy paste work if found i will report you)

Answer:

A Is silver nitrate and B is silver bromide.

The balanced chemical equation for the reaction is

AgNO3 + NaBr ⇒NaNO3 +AgBr⇒ Displacement reaction

2AgBr ⇒2Ag + Br2

It can be listed as decomposition reaction or photo decomposition reaction.

Explanation:

'A' is AgNO3 or Silver Nitrate

'B' is AgBr or Silver Bromide

Equation -:

AgNO3 + NaBr ---------> AgBr + NaNO3

Type of reaction -:

  • Double Displacement Reaction
  • Photo Decomposition Reaction
