When the arrow is released, the potential energy stored in the bow gets transformed into the kinetic energy of the/ arrow.

hope this helps please follow

Strain Potential Energy gets converted to Kinetic Energy.

  • When the arrow is stretched on the elastic part of the bow, there is deformation of the stretchable part.

  • This leads to development of strain potential energy (it is analogous to spring potential energy of a spring).

  • Now, when the hands on the arrow is released, the whole potential energy of the bow is converted to Kinetic energy of the arrow.

  • Thus the arrow gains velocity and flies off.
