red paint jars = ⅓

purple paint jars = ⅔

ratio of purple paint jars to red paint jars = ⅔× ⅓ = 2:1

Answer:

13 are red

So,

No. of red colors = 1/3 × 87 = 29

No. of purple colors = 2/3 × 87 = 2 × 29 = 58

So,

Ratio = 58/29

Ratio = 2/1
