Everything in life is in a flux of evolution. Nothing remains the same ever. This applies to man’s world particularly. Man is always upgrading, improving almost everything. Computers, vehicles, TVs, ACs, mobile phones, technology is always moving one notch up from their previous versions.
Field of education is not an exception. The present schools have been far more better, efficient, and effective than the schools in the past. Similarly, future schools and classrooms will also be far more improved than the present schools. Let’s draw a comparison between the present classrooms and future classrooms.
Present Classrooms: The present classrooms have a blackboard or white board facing rows of desks or chairs which can accommodate approximately 50 students. Some of the schools also have smart interactive boards too. Most of the teaching is done by teachers through orthodox methods using chalk board or white board. A few of the teachers use interactive smart-boards too. The teaching methodology is traditional involving passive teaching techniques. Teachers give lecture; and students listen to the lecture. Paper note-books and ink-pens are used extensively.
Future Classrooms: Future class-rooms will be quite different. They won’t have blackboard or white board. They will only have sophisticated touch smart-boards. The desks in future class-rooms will have either built-in tabs or laptops in them. Students won’t carry bags containing books, notebooks, etc. The entire study material will be in their laptops or tabs or on the smart interactive board. Teachers will be highly professionals. Apart from having their subject knowledge, they will also be expert in IT and computers. The study in future classrooms will be much more efficient and fun!
