an article ( m.p ) = Rs1300

Selling price (s.p) = Rs1144

discount (d) = m.p - s.p

= 1300 - 1144

= Rs 156

Now ,

discount percentage

=(d×100)/m.p

= ( 156 × 100 )/1300

= 12%
