Answer:

3.07 km/s power -1

Explanation:

Distance covered by the satellite in 24 hours

s=2πr

=2×3.14×42250=265464.58 km

Therefore speed of satellite,

v= distance travelled/time taken

= 265464.58/24×60×60

=3.07 km/s power -1

Answer:

Explanation:

Given :-

Radius of circular orbit, r = 42250 km

Time taken, t = 24 hours

To Find :-

Speed

Formula to be used :-

Speed = Distance/Time

Circumference = 2πr

Solution :-

Putting all the values, we get

Circumference = 2πr

⇒ Circumference = 2 × 22/7 × 42250

Circumference = 465571.4 km

Now, Speed

Speed = Distance/Time

⇒ Speed = 465571.4/24

Speed = 11065.4 km/h

We will now convert it in m/s

= 11065.4 × 5/18

= 3070.9444 m/s

Now to km/h

= 3070.9444/1000

= 3.070 km/s

Hence, the speed is 3.070 km/s.
