Answer: you can substitute the values

3.07 km s−1

Explanation:

Distance covered by the satellite in 24 hours

s=2πr

  =2×3.14×42250=265464.58 km

Therefore speed of satellite,

v = distance travelled / time taken

= 24×60×60265464.58

=3.07 km s−1

hope it helps :)

Answer:

3.07 km/s

Explanation:

Given:

  • Radius of the circular orbit = 44000 km
  • Time taken to revolve around the earth = 24 hours

To find:

  • Speed of the artififcial satellite in km/s

Distance of the circular orbit = 2 \pi r

Distance of the circular orbit =2 \times 3.14 \times 44000

Distance of the circular orbit =6.28 \times 44,000

Distance of the circular orbit = 2,76,320 km

Time taken in seconds = 24 \times 60 \times 60

Time taken in seconds = 86400 seconds

Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

Speed = \frac{276320}{86400}

Speed = 3.07 km/s

The speed of the artificial satellite is equal to 3.07 km/s
