Given -

An athlete completes one round of a circular track of diameter 50 metre in 30 seconds

To Find-

The distance and displacement of the athlete at the end of 30 seconds

Distance-

The distance is the longest distance of a movement of a body

Displacement -

The displacement is the shortest distance of a movement of a body

Solution -

Distance = Diametre of circle / time

2πr/ time

2×22/7×50/30 m/s

2200/7/30 m/s

66000/7 m/s

approximately 9429m/s

Displacement = Half of the Diametre of circle/ time

C/2π/ time

9429 /2×22/7 m/s

approximately 1500m/s
