time taken to complete one round =40 sec
radius of track=100m
therefore total distance covered in 40 sec=2πr=2×22/7×100
distance covered in 1sec =(2×22/7×100)÷40=15.71 m
distance covered in 2min 20sec i.e. 140 sec=15.71×140 =2200 m

Diameter = 200 m
Radius = 200/2 = 100 m
Circumference of the circle [is equal to] the distance covered by the athlete i. e. 2πr
= 2 × 22/7 × 100
= 628.4 m
