According to the question,

The athelete completes 1 round in 40s

d = 200m => r = 100m

Distance covered in 40s

= 2πr

= 2× \frac{22}{7} × 100

= 628.57m

_____________________

In 2min 20s,

He covers 3.5 rounds (=>140/40)

Hence,

Distance = 628.57×3.5 = 2199.995 m

Displacement = Diameter = 200m

Diameter = 200m

Radius = 100m

Time taken to complete one round = 40seconds

Distance covered in 40 seconds = 2πr

=2×π×100

=>200πm^2

Now,

Distance covered in 1 second = 200π/40

=>5πm^2

Time = 2min20 seconds = 2×60+20 = 140seconds

Distance covered in 2min20seconds = 140×5π

=>2200m^2

Displacement:-

 \frac{2200}{  \frac{4400}{7}  }

= 3.5 ,

so the athelete completed 3.5 rounds and stopped at the position diameterically opposite of the position where the athelete started.

There fore it's displacement

=> 200m

Cheers!
