An athlete covers 16m in 10 second. He start running around a circle of radius 28m. Calculate distance and displacement after 400 second.

SOLUTION

♤ Distance is the length of path covered by a particle .

So, if a particle compeletes a round it implies that it has moved along the circumfrence of circle that is 2 × pi ×r

Using Direct Propotion :

If 10sec : 16m then 400sec : x m

16×400/10

We get distance as :

640m/sec

♤Displacement being the shortes
