The Athlete Made 21 Rounds

GIVEN

Distance covered in 1 round = 0.4 km

Total distance covered = 8.4 km

TO FIND

Number of rounds completed in 8.4 km

SOLUTION:

We Can simply solve the above problem as follows-

it is given,

Total distance run by the athlete = 8.4 km

Distance covered in 1 round = 0.4 km

To calculate the number of rounds covering 8.4 km of distance we will divide the total distance by distance covered in one round.

Therefore,

number \: of \: rounds \:  =  \frac{total \: distance}{disance \: covered \: in \: one \:round }

Putting the values in the above equation,

= 8.4/0.4

To remove the decimals we will multiply the denominator and numerator by 10

 \frac{8.4}{0.4}  \times  \frac{10}{10}  =  \frac{84}{4}  = 21

Hence, the athlete made 21 rounds.
