The average speed and average velocity is 16 m/s and zero respectively.

Given - Distance and time

Find - Average speed and velocity

Solution - Average speed = total distance covered/total time taken

Average velocity = total displacement/total time taken

Since athlete runs on circular track, the distance will be 400 m. The displacement will be zero as he returns to his original position.

Average speed = 400/25

Average speed = 16 m/s.

Average velocity = 0/25

Average velocity= 0

Hence, average speed and average velocity is 16 m/s and 0 respectively.
