An athlete ran 4 complete rounds along a rectangular field.The length of the field was thrice its width.Find the length of the field if the total distance he ran was 800m

He runs 800m in 4 rounds, there for, the perimeter is 8000/4 = 200m.

We Know,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( L + W )

Here, L = 3W given in the question.

So we can wright ,

Perimeter =  2 (3W + W )

or, 200 m = 8W

or W= 200/8 m

or, W = 25m

So, L = 3 x 25 = 75 M
