Given,

radius of track = 5m

time to complete one round =12s

We know that,

Average speed = total distance/ time taken

average speed = 5/12 m/sec

And,

Average displacement = 0

( because the athlete come back on the starting point)

Hope it's helpful...

GIVEN:

Radius = 5 m

complete 1 round in t= 12 sec

CONCEPT:

Average speed is a ratio of total distance wrt time

and distance can never be zero as it depends upon the actual path covered by the object

Average velocity is the ratio of total displacement añd total time taken

Average velocity can be zero as it depends upon the displacement

displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and the final position .

displacement can be zero only when initial and final position is the same

SOLUTION:

average speed

= total distance /total time

= 2πr/12

=31.4/12

=2.616

average velocity=0

as displacement=0(initial and final position is the same

I hope this helps ( ╹▽╹ )
