An athlete runs along a circular track of radius 20m. What is the displacement after covering half of a round

poonam77: radius=20m displacement= ? DISPLACEMENT=RADIUS ×2=20×2=40M
neosingh: give that guy a cookie lol
AayushKumar111: Displacement will be equal to the diameter of the circular path since he covers half round. Thus displacement will be 2r = 2 X 20 = 40M
roshni1332: okk thnxx
neosingh: thanks wont work, u have to give them a cookie

Hey!

______________

Radius = 20m
Displacement after covering half round=?

Displacement = Shortest distance travelled
Displacement = 20* 2 =40 m

___________

Hope it helps...!!!

Hi Mate,

See the image attached , red curve / path denotes distance,
If we had to find distance then We would have calculated the circumference of the semi-circle.

DIsplacement = radius * 2
                       = 20 * 2
                       = 40 cm

See the image for better understanding.
