An atom consist equal number of negative and positive charge .So the charge balance each other and atom is called electrically neutral

Answer:An atom is electrically neutral because it consist of equal no.of electrons (negatively charged) and protons(positively charged).If it loses electrons it becomes ion. If it accepts an electrons it becomes negatively charged anion.
