An atom X has 2 ,8 ,7 electrons in its shell. It combines with Y having 1 electron in its outermost shell. What type of bond will be formed between X and Y?

ionic bond
because chlorine have 7 elecron in outermost shell and when it combines with element having 1 valance elecron it will form ionic bond by complete transfer of electrons!!
