Given: Total number of workers = 90

Daily average wages of all workers = Rs. 60

Average daily wages of non-technical workers = Rs. 45

1/3 workers are technical

To Find: Average daily wages for technical workers

Solution:

Let Wages for all technical workers be a

Number of technical workers = \frac{1}{3} x Total number of workers

                                                 =  \frac{1}{3} x 90

                                                 = 30

Number of non-technical workers = Total number of workers - Number of technical workers

Number of non-technical workers = 90 - 30

                                                         = 60

Average wages for all workers = (Wages for all technical workers + wages for all non-technical workers) / Total number of workers

Wages for all technical workers = Average wage of technical workers x Number of technical workers

Wages for all technical workers = a x 30

                                                     = Rs. 30a

Wages for all non-technical workers = Average wage of non-technical workers x Number of non-technical workers

Wages for all non-technical workers = 45 x 60

                                                             = Rs. 2700

Average wages for all workers = \frac{30a + 2700}{90}

60 = \frac{a + 90}{3}

180 = a + 90

a = 180 - 90

a = 90

Therefore, the average daily wages of technical workers are Rs. 90.
