show that it's potential energy is (1/2kx^2)

We know,

Force = k × dx

Also, Work = Force × displacement

W = F×x = kxdx

Integrating it,

We get:- kx^2/2

Since work done is equivalent to energy,

we have:- Potential energy= (1/2kx^2)
