Answer :-

P = 25 w

Given :-

v = 220

p = 100 w

To find :-

The power consumed when it is operated on 110 v.

Solution:-

Let first calculate it's resistance.

Resistance is given by :-

 \huge \boxed{P = \dfrac{V^2}{R}}

Put the given values,

 100 = \dfrac{(220)^2}{R}

 R = \dfrac{48,400}{100}

 R = 484\Omega

Now,

We have

R = 484

V = 110 v

Let's calculate it's power.

 P = \dfrac{(110)^2}{484}

 P = \dfrac{12,100}{484}

 P = 25 w

hence,

The power of electric bulb will be 25 w.

hello there

Explanation:

Question: An electric bulb is rated 220 v and 100w . When it is operated on 110 v , what will be the power consumed?

To find: the power consumed by the electric bulb when operated at a Voltage of 110.

Solution:

Given:

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  > V = 220v

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  > P = 100w

Now,

Resistance of the bulb is given by:

 \:  \: R =  \frac{ {V}^{2} }{P}

Putting the value of the variables in the formulae accordingly

we get :.

■ R = (220 ×220) / 100

■ R = (48400) / 100

■ R = 484 ohm

☞So, the resistance of the electric bulb = 484 ohm

Now , we have to find power when V = 110 W

So, the power consumed is given by the same formulae :

i.e,

 \:  \:  \:  \: P =  \frac{ {V}^{2} }{R}

Again , putting the value in the formulae in order to know the power consumption:

P = (110 × 110) / 484

P = 12100 / 484

P = 25 W

So, the power consumed by the Electric bulb is 25 W [Answer]
