watt (W) is the unit of power, which is the rate of doing work. power = work or energy/time. 1 W= 1 joule/1 second

100 minutes = 100 × 60= 6000 seconds

so, 40= x/6000

solving for x, we get x= 240000J or 2.4 × 10⁵ J.
