an electric bulb when connected across a power supply of 220 volt ,consume a power of 60 watt. If the supply drops to 180 volt what will be the power consumed? If the supply is suddenly increased to 240 volt what will be the power consumed?

V1 = 220V
P1 = 60W

V2= 180V
P2= ?

V3= 240V
P3=?

Firstly let us calculate the resistance of bulb. Resistance will be constant in each case.

P1 =V1²/R
60= 220²/R
R= 220²/60
= 806.6R

P2= V2²/R
= 180²/806.6
= 40W

P3= V3²/R
= 240²/806.6
= 71W
