An electric dipole consisting of charge +1micro coloumn and -1micro coloumn having dipole length 2cm is place in a uniform electric length of 10to the power -5N/C find the maximum torque exerted on the dipole also calculate the W.D in rotating the dipole through 180degree starting from the position of stable equilibrium

the maximum torque is
T=pE=(1×10^-3)×0.02×10^-5
=2×10^-10 N.m
the work done to rotate it 180° is
W=2pE
= 4×10^-10 jule
