An electric fan runs from 220V mains. The current flowing through it is 0.6 A .

To find : rate of electrical energy transferred by the fan and also energy is transferred in two minutes.

Solution : voltage supplied to electric fan, V = 220 volts.

current flowing through it, I = 0.6 A

rate of electrical energy transferred by the fan, P = VI

= 220 volts × 0.6 A

= 132 J/s

Therefore 132 J of electrical energy is transferred by the fan per second.

Energy transferred in two minutes = 132 J/s × 2 minutes

= 132 × 2 × 60 J

= 15840 J = 15.84 kJ

15.84 kJ energy is transferred in two minutes by the fan.

Given,

  • An electric fan runs from 220V mains.

  • The current flowing through it is 0.6A

To Find:-

  • Rate of electrical energy transferred by the fan.

  • How much energy is transformed in 2min.

Calculation:-

Voltage (V) = 220V

Current flowing (I) = 0.6A

Rate of electrical energy

transferred by the fan = P=VI

Substituting the given values in formula

=220voltes×0.6A

=132J/s

So,

132J of energy transferred by the fan oer second.

Energy transferred in 2min = 132J/s×2min

=132×2×60

=15840 J

= 15.84 KJ.
