☞Given

An electric heater can offer a maximum resistance of 50 ohm when a 3 amper of current flows through it for a minute.

☞To find

what is the maximum amount of heat produced by the heater

☞Solution

According to the joules of heating

This law can be stated as the amount of heat produced in a conductor is

✰ Directly proportional to the square of current flowing through it .

✰ Directly proportional to resistance of a conductor.

✰Directly proportional to the time .

So, H = I²Rt

where ,

  • H = heat
  • I = current
  • R = resistance
  • t = time

According to the question

  • R = 50ohm
  • I = 3A
  • t = 1min = 60sec
  • H = ??

Applying Formula

→ H = l²Rt

→ H = (3)² × 50 × 60

→ H = 9 × 3000

→ H = 27000 Joules

Hence, the maximum amount of heat produced by heater is 27000 Joules

To know the answer for this question we need to know a small formula used for this sum, That is \: \: \:\:\: \: \circ \: \underline{\boxed{\red{\scriptsize{ \sf H\:=\:I²Rt}}}}

Where,

  • H = Heat
  • I = Current
  • R = Resistance and
  • t = Time

So now we can start doing the Problem !

= H = I²Rt

= 3² × 50 × 60 ( 3 Amber, 50 ohm and 60 minutes )

= 450 × 60 or 9 × 3000

= 27, 000 J ( Joules )

∴ The maximum amount of heat produced by the heater is 27, 000 J .
