resistance R =8ohm

current I =15 amperes

time t =2 hours =2x3600seconds

let H be the heat produced,

Heat H=Ixixrxt

H=15x15x8(2x3600)

H=12960000 joules

rate at which heat develop =12960000J/(2x3600)

=1800J/s

hence the rate at which heat developed in the heater =1800J/s

Explanation:

An electric heater of resistance 8 Ω draws 15 A from the service mains 2 hours. Calculate the rate at which heat is developed in the heater. Therefore, heat is produced by the heater at the rate of 1800 J/s.
