Hi there,
The basic formula to keeping mind is the formula of resistance, that is,
v = i \times r
or in accordance to this problem,
we know that r is common.
so r = 220/3.4

when v = 110, I will be,
v/r = I

= 110/220/3.4
= 1.7A
