Answer:

when the lenth of the shadow is 12 meter ,then hight of the pole=16 meter

so when length shadow 1 m then hight of the pole =(16/12)m

Therefore when length of a shadow of a tree is 18 meter then hight of the tree=(16/12)★18=24 meter.

Given :

  • 16 meter high pole costs a shadow of 12 m.

We Need To Find :

  • Height of tree that casts a shadow of 18 m.

Step-by-step explanation :

Let height of tree be x m.

Thus, our table look like,

________________________________

| Height of object (in metre ) = 16 | x | ________________________________

| Length of shadow (in metre) = 12 | 18 |

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Now, as the height of object increases.

The length of its shadow also increases.

∴ They are in direct proportion :

➮ 16/12 = x/18

➮ 16/12 × 18 = x

➮ 16/4 × 6 = x

➮ 16/2 × 3 = x

➮ 8 × 3 = x

➮ 24 = x.

Therefore, Height of tree is 24 m.
