An electric wire is sold only in multiples of 1 metre and a person required several lenghts of wire, each 85 cm long. To avoid any wastage and to minimise labour, what minimum length should he purchase?​

The answer would be 17m. So that there will be no wastage of wire and he will get 20 piece of 85cm long segments of wire.

Take the LCM of 85 and 100cm(1m=100cm), that is- 2*2*5*5*17=1700cm=17m.
