Answer:

3000 number of tv it must sell to have neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

An electrical company earns a profit on every colour tv = RS 80

An electrical company earns a loss on every refrigerator = RS 60

The company selling of colour tv  in a month = 5000 pieces

The company selling of refrigerator in a month = 4000 pieces

Solution:

No of colour tv x profit = 5000 × 80 = 400000

No of refrigerator x loss = 4000 × 60 = 240000

By subtracting the both we get,

Profit in a month = 400000 - 240000 = 160000

Hence, profit in a month is Rs.160000.

In order to get neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000 and the colour tv quantity will be,

No of refrigerator x loss = 4000 × 60 = 240000

Then the profit gained on colour tv also be 240000 to make neither profit nor loss, so that

=3000

Therefore, 3000 number of tv it must sell to have neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000.
