an electrical company earns a profit of rupees 80 on every colour tv and loss of rupees 60 on every refrigerator. @ the company sells 5000 pieces of colour tv and 4000 pieces of refrigerator in a month. what is its profit or loss? b) find the number of tv it must sell to have neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000?
Answers
and it sells 4000 pieces of refrigerator that means it has a loss of 4000×60=240000
clearly profit is more than loss
So profit=400000-240000=160000
b) company size 4000 applicator that means it has a loss of 60 × 4000 = 240000 rupees
now to habe neither a profit nor looss it must sell a such amount of TV whose sum if profit equals to 240000
So profit on 1 tv=80
No. of tv sets =240000/80=3000
a) What is its profit or loss?
Profit = RS 160000
b) Find the number of tv it must sell to have neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000? 3000 number of colour TV
To find:
a) What is its profit or loss?
b) Find the number of tv it must sell to have neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000?
Given data:
An electrical company earns a profit on every colour tv = RS 80
An electrical company earns a loss on every refrigerator = RS 60
The company selling of colour tv in a month = 5000 pieces
The company selling of refrigerator in a month = 4000 pieces
Solution:
No of colour tv x profit = 5000 × 80 = 400000
No of refrigerator x loss = 4000 × 60 = 240000
By subtracting the both we get,
Profit in a month = 400000 - 240000 = 160000
Hence, profit in a month is Rs.160000.
In order to get neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000 and the colour tv quantity will be,
No of refrigerator x loss = 4000 × 60 = 240000
Then the profit gained on colour tv also be 240000 to make neither profit nor loss, so that
=3000
Therefore, 3000 number of tv it must sell to have neither profit nor loss if the number of sold refrigerator is 4000.
