an electrician carrying out some repairs in your house. he wants to replace a fuse by a piece of wire. would you agree? give reasons your response.

No , I wouldn't allow because a fuse is a safety device and if he puts a wire the excessive current will flow through the wire and the appliance will burst.

I would say Never replace a fuse with a piece of wire.
It is possible that the wire will be burned also taking the appliance with it. The electrical appliance will burn.
A wire is just a fuse that has such a high rating that it’s too dangerous to use for limiting current.

In case of Copper wire:
Copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire because it has a high melting point. It will not melt easily when a high electric current passes through it and may damage the electrical appliances.
