an electron and a Proton are released in a region of space where the electric field is vertically upwards.
How do the forces on the electron and proton compare?

If they were initially at rest, the positive ion will move in the direction of electric field. And the electron in opposite direction to the field. This means they will move opposite to each other.
If they were released will some velocities are given, both will move in parabolic paths in opposite directions.
