An electron microscope is necessary for the study of molecular scale biological or non-biological specimens which are way smaller to observe by a normal microscope.

• These electron microscopes projects a beam of electron on the specimen to obtain a detailed magnified image of the specimen.

• These microscopes have more accuracy due to the extremely smal sized electrons which add additional precision.

An electron microscope is necessary for the study of cell organelle.

Explanation:

  • An electron microscope is one which can magnify the object upto 1000 times. In case of simple microscope or light microscope the magnification can be maximum of 100 times under oil immersion objective.
  • This is sufficient for finding the presence of an organelle or a type of cell. But it is not good for study the detailed structure of the cell organelles.
  • Hence cell organelles can be studied under electron microscopy. Electron microscopy is also used for studying the structure of compounds or atoms.
