An element A forms two oxides AO and AO2. The oxide AO is neutral whereas the oxide AO2 is acidic in nature. Would you call element A, a metal or a non-metal?justify with reason.

obviously A is a non-metal.Now for the reason, see AO is neutral which means octet is complete. This can be possible only when A has a valency 6 as oxygen gives 2 electrons. Now AO2 is acidic and only non-metals form acidic oxides.
hence A is a non-metal.I hope this was helpful.
