The no of electrons must be 17 as the no of prontons are (35-18)=17
And the electronic configuration will be 2,8,7
so the Group will be 10 + no of electrons in last orbit =10+ 7 = 17
And the period will be 3 as the no of orbits involved are 3.
period 3, group 17 in modern periodic table

Answer:

We know :

Atomic number = Mass number - No. of neutrons.

Atomic number = 35 - 18

= > 17

Electronic configuration :

2 , 8 , 7

Group no. = 17

Period no. = 3

Name of element is Chlorine (  Cl ) .
