Mass of the elephant = 1500 kg

Acceleration due to gravity = 10 m/s^2

Weight of the elephant = mass × gravity

Weight of the elephant = 1500 × 10 = 15000 N

Area = 50 cm^2 = 0.005 m^2

Total area = 4 × 0.005 = 0.02 m^2

Now, the pressure is defined as the force acting on the per unit area.

Pressure = \frac{Force}{Area}

Pressure = \frac{15000}{0.02}

Pressure = 750000 Pascals

Hence, the pressure applied by the elephant on the area = 750000 Pascals

ArnimZola: Now, it is correct as you pasted that it is standing on four legs
ArnimZola: I hope the solution is clear!
MahiSinha: actually the first question was wrong
MahiSinha: this one i gave is right
ArnimZola: Yes, but the question in the comments is correct!
ArnimZola: The solution is correct! Let me know, if you have any doubt
MahiSinha: ya
MahiSinha: a rectangular glass slab has dimensions 15 into 20 into 10 cm has mass of 10 kg calculate maximum pressure it can exert on ground
MahiSinha: pls help
