Given :-

  • Speed of elevator = 8 m/minute
  • Initial height of elevator = 10 m
  • Final depth of elevator = -350 m

To Find :-

  • Time taken

Solution :-

\boxed{\boxed{\sf {Total \ distance = Initial \ height + Final \ depth}}}}}}}

Thus, distance to be descended by elevator = -350 + (-10 ) = -360 m

Time taken by elevator to descend -8 m = 1 minute

Time taken by the elevator to descend -360 m = -360 ÷ (-8)

= 40 minutes

Thus, time = 40 minutes
