Dear Student,

Answer: The amount deposited at 8% be 2500 rupees.

and that of for 6% be 5000 rupees.

Solution:

Let the amount deposited at 8% be x rupees.

and that of for 6% be y rupees

Simple interest = Principal amount ( rate)(year)/100

8x/100+6y/100 = 500

8x+6y =50000

4x+3y = 25000 ......eq1

For second case when amount interchanged

6x/100+8y/100 = 550

6x+8y=55000

3x+4y = 27,500 ......eq2

add both equation 1 and 2

4x+3y+3x+4y = 25000+27,500

7x+7y = 52,500

x+y = 7,500 .....eq3

Subtract both equation

4x+3y-3x-4y = 25000-27,500

x-y = -2,500 .....eq4

Add equations 3 and 4

x+y+x-y = 7,500-2,500

2x = 5000

x = 5000/2

x = 2500

2,500+y = 7,500

y = 7,500- 2,500

y = 5000

So, the amount deposited at 8% be 2500 rupees.

and that of for 6% be 5000 rupees.

Hope it helps you.
