An enlarged image is formed behind a spherical mirror at a distance of

15cm for an object placed in front of it. The focal length of the mirror is

25cm. Find out the magnification 'm' of the image and also find out the

object distance. Draw a ray diagram.​

v = -15 cm

u = ?

m = ?

From,

1/F = 1/u +1/(-v)

» 1/25 = 1/u - 1/15

» 1/u = 1/25 + 1/15

» 1/u = (3+5)/75

» 1/u = 8/75

» u = 75/8

» u = 9.375 cm

Now,

m = v/u

= -15/9.4

= -1.6
