an equilateral triangle ,AD⊥BC , prove that AD²=3BD² pls solve this for me i have an exam tomo pls

Here is your answer

Here given triangle ABC must be an equilateral triangle and we have to

prove that  AD^2 = 3BD^2

In Triangle ABD we get,

 AB^2    = AD^2 + BD^2

 BC^2    = AD^2 + BD^2  ( AB = BC )

(2BD)^2 = AD^2 + BD^2

 4BD^2  =  AD^2 + BD^2

 AD^2    =  4BD^2 - AD^2

 AD^2    =  3BD^2  (Proved)
