It was getting darker outside. It was the perfect time. We had our things packed and ready to go. My mom told me "as soon as dad falls asleep, we'll leave." My mother and I had enough of his abuse and couldn't take it any longer. So today was the day.
It was around 11 PM now. Father was yelling at mother before he went to sleep. Mother then came to me with wet eyes and told me that we are leaving for sure. My father was soon fast asleep and we snuck out through the back door.
We got into car and as soon as mother started the engine, father slammed the door open and was yelling things I couldn't hear. He then grabbed his things and started running towards the car. Mother hurriedly pulled the gear to drive mode and we were off to someplace.
I didn't know exactly where we were going but it was at least three hours of drive but at last we arrived safely.
