Vacations are the best time to relax and enjoy and I eagerly wait for my summer vacations every year. Every year my school closes in the middle of the month of May and reopens by the end of June. Annual exams get over and the results are declared.

This time I got promoted to class nine from class eight. After the hard labor for the examinations, I wanted some rest and also some refreshment. Hence I put aside my books for a few weeks. Next day morning I went out to play with my friends.

It was a very hot and sunny day so we decided to play indoor games. In the evening I asked my father and mother to take me to any of the hill stations because I wanted to beat the heat. My father told me that we cannot go to a hill station because all the hotels and resorts are booked beforehand only.

                     SUMMER HOLIDAY'S

The summer season starts in March and ends in August. This season is very hot. June is the hottest month of this season. Days are long and nights are smaller. In this season, we get the depth of the sun because a part of the Earth is facing the direct sunlight of Sun, which is facing the summer. It is very good in the morning in the summer but it is very hot in the afternoon. The sun's rays are very hot, hot air moves throughout the day, which can make us sick. We start to sweat, we drink enough water in this season.

Roads are deserted in the afternoon. People sit under fans and wear cotton clothes to save themselves from heat. People mostly use air coolers, refrigerators to get cooling and cold water. Many people go to hilly stations in the summer, summer is the season of ice cream and cold drinks. This is also common, water watermelon, grapefruit and orange season. People like to drink mango juice and also a sugar cane juice, which is called the elixir of the earth. Many beautiful flowers have blossomed in this season.

In this season, farmers solve their fields and are ready for monsoon. Summer is boasting on us because monsoon helps in the arrival of vaporized water in the monsoon season as a rainstorm in the summer season. Ram Navami, Shivratri and Holi, the festival of colors is celebrated in the summer. In school children, their examinations are done and then summer vacation. It is time for them to break from studying and enjoy.
