Rhizobium is an "example" of "nitrogen fixing bacteria".

Nitrogen fixing bacteria fixes the "atmospheric nitrogen" into nitrate ions which will be utilized for the leguminous plants for their metabolism.

The plants includes soy, peanut, lentils, and so on.

These plants need nitrogen to live whereas these bacterias also need plants as host to fix the nitrogen.

These plants have tap root system and has many small leaves.
