Let,
speed of passenger train= v km/hr
and speed of the express train= (v+10) km/hr
Therefore,
to travel 300 km:
passenger train takes= 300/v hr
express train takes= 300/(v+10) hr
Now,
[tex] \frac{300}{v } - \frac{300}{v + 10} = \frac{25}{60}
solve this equation to get v.
speed of passenger train= v km/hr
and speed of the express train= (v+10) km/hr
Therefore,
to travel 300 km:
passenger train takes= 300/v hr
express train takes= 300/(v+10) hr
Now,
[tex] \frac{300}{v } - \frac{300}{v + 10} = \frac{25}{60}
solve this equation to get v.
